We are a small, family owned guest house with a love for Baleal and a passion for helping others enjoy it too.
The idea for Perfect Shore started back in 2017 when we lived in one of the world’s biggest cities, London. We noticed how it easy it was to go days or weeks without putting so much as a toe into the wild. Think offices, meetings and shopping centres. Buses, cars and trains. The internet and television. It felt like most of our life was man made. As two people who love the ocean and the outdoors we realised that the real world was missing from our everyday lives.
We believe that a little bit of the wild is good for you
It clears your mind and makes you feel alive. There’s lots of science to back this up but you could also say it’s because we’re human and we were designed for this earth. We’re not saying go and live in a cave. We’re saying go surfing! Ride a bike through the fields. Swim before breakfast. Eat great food.
So we moved from the big city to a small village on the edge of Europe...
…and launched a guest house. Here, next to endless beaches and world class waves, we are on a mission to put a piece of the real world back in people’s lives. This is Baleal, Portugal, where Alex surfed for more than 25 years, where we first met, and now the place that inspires our business. Now you know why we’re called Perfect Shore!
We are more than comfy beds and free tea
We also offer surf lessons, a free beach shuttle and real orange juice. We are designing our guest experience around the best bits of Baleal, Portugal. Pleasure isn’t complicated, right? It’s having one awesome thing to do and no distractions.
