Terms of Booking

  1. By placing a booking with us (Perfect Shore Guest House, the Guest House / our representative) you (the lead guest) and your booking party (guests) agree to the following terms and conditions as set-out. During your stay you agree to abide by the subsequent conditions as set-out. If you have any questions about booking with us, please contact us before making a booking.
  2. Where the person making the booking is different to the lead guest taking up the occupation, the person making the booking may be held responsible for cancellation, non-arrival and damages as set-out within. Only the lead guest and the named booking party are allowed to use the property and its facilities, any third party visitors are only allowed access at our express permission.
  3. To secure any booking we require either a valid credit card or full payment in advance.

Cancellations and non-arrival

  1. If you need to cancel a booking please contact us as soon as possible.
  2. If you cancel in the 24 hours after making the booking – the ‘grace period’ – you will not be charged, regardless of whether you made a standard or non-refundable booking. This grace period is not available for ‘last minute’ bookings made 48 hours or less before arrival.
  3. If you purchased a non-refundable booking the full amount will be charged. If you cancel it will be charged at the time of cancellation. If you don’t show up it will be charged on the day of check in.
  4. If you purchased a standard booking you may cancel for free until 7 days before check in. If you cancel in the 7 days before check in, or if you don’t show up, you will be charged the cost of the first night. If you have already paid all of part of your booking cost then will refund you the full amount or the full amount minus the cost of the first night, whichever is applicable.
  5. In the rare event we need to cancel your booking with us, please be aware that we cannot be held liable for circumstances beyond our control and that our liability to you is limited to the refund of any payment already made.

Children and extra beds

  1. Babies and children up to 3 years (inclusive) may sleep in a cot in your room at no extra charge. We can provide cots for free, subject to availability.
  2. Children of 4 to 11 years (inclusive) may sleep in an extra bed in your room for 10 EUR per night. Subject to availability. Maximum of one extra bed allowed per room.
  3. Children of 12 years and over, and adults, may sleep in an extra bed in your room for 20 EUR per night. Subject to availability. Maximum of one extra bed allowed per room.

Entire house bookings

  1. If you book all of the rooms please note that you will still be sharing the shared areas of the house with the owners.

Payments

  1. If you provided a credit card at the time of booking we require the balance of your booking to be paid prior to check out. You can pay in advance, on arrival, during your stay or at check out.
  2. If you did not provide a credit card at the time of booking then we require the total amount to be paid at the time of booking.
  3. We accept the following forms of payment: secure online payment via our website (using your debit or credit card), payment over the phone, cash, bank transfer.

Conduct

  1. All guests agree to respect the privacy and peace of all other staying guests, neighbours and the owners at all times. We reserve the right to cancel a booking with immediate effect if guests are not honouring this agreement or causing a disturbance / nuisance to other guests, neighbours or the owners.
  2. Quiet hours are from 23:00 to 08:00.

Check in and check out

  1. Check-in is between 1500 and 2200 on the day of arrival. You may be required to use our self check in facility as we cannot guarantee that reception will be open when you arrive.
  2. Check-out is by 1100 on day of departure.
  3. If you wish to check in earlier than 1500 or later than 2200 please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
  4. If you wish to check out later than 1100 please ask. This is possible at no extra charge if no one is checking into your room on the same day as your departure.

COVID-19 measures

  1. You agree to comply with the measures in place in the Guest House, which are kept in line with official guidance from the Portugal government.

Housekeeping

  1. Rooms and bathrooms are cleaned weekly if you request it.
  2. Bed linen is changed weekly if you request it.
  3. We reserve the right to check the room at any time if we are concerned about the welfare of guests, improper use of the room or the condition of the room.
  4. Towels are changed when you ask for new towels or after seven nights, whichever comes first.

WiFi Fair & Appropriate Usage Policy

  1. Where WiFi Internet access is provided, guests accept to use this access to the Internet fairly and appropriately. We may monitor network performance and user usage in order to maintain a fair and high level of service to all our guests.
  2. The Internet access provided is intended for general use such as access to the world wide web, email, messaging, social media, light video / music / media streaming. It is not intended or ideally suited for heavy media streaming, online gaming, extensive downloads / uploads. Access to illegal activity or use of our network for illegal activity is not prohibited and will be reported to local authorities.

Damages and lost property

  1. We reserve the right to charge the lead guest for any damages caused through the course of a booking by any member of the booking party. This includes breakages, spillages, stains, damage to furniture or fixtures and fittings. Any accidental damages should be reported as soon as possible in order to minimise damage and associated costs. Lost keys / fobs will incur a replacement charge per key / fob lost.
  2. Any lost property, if discovered and found, left behind by guests during a stay will be held for a period of 1 month. While we will make our best efforts to reunite lost property with their owners we accept no responsibility in replacing lost items and encourage guests to ensure they have all their belonging before checking-out. We may offer to post lost items via recorded delivery at the cost of the property owner, otherwise collection can be arranged.
  3. Use of any sports equipment at the guest house is entirely at your own risk. We do not accept responsibility for injury or damage incurred as a result.

Smoking

  1. Smoking of any tobacco products including, but not limited to cigarettes, pipes, cigars, snuff or chewing tobacco, is only allowed in the outside designated area.

Pets and service dogs

  1. We do not accept pets throughout the accommodation, except for service dogs.

Parking

  1. Free parking is available on the surrounding roads. Guests park their vehicles at their own risk.

Accessibility

  1. The guest house is a residential house that has not been modified in any way.
  2. All of the bedrooms are located on the first floor up one flight of stairs. We do not have a lift. Part of the stairs has a hand rail.
  3. None of the bathrooms have grab rails or emergency pull cords.
  4. On the ground floor there is one bathroom.
  5. If you have a particular accessibility requirement please contact us and we will be happy to discuss them with you.

Beach shuttle and Pick Up from Peniche bus station

  1. We provide one free return shuttle per person per day from Perfect Shore Guest House to Baleal beach car park. The shuttle leaves after breakfast and returns in the afternoon. Exact times vary and are shown at the property on the day.
  2. If you arrive by bus to Peniche bus station then we will collect you free of charge if you request it in advance and we confirm in advance. This is limited to one pick up per person per booking.
  3. We reserve the right to cancel the beach shuttle and / or bus station pick up due to reasons outside our control, for example our shuttle vehicle being unavailable.

Your Personal Details & Privacy

  1. Our policy surrounding the personal details you provide as part of any booking or enquiry through this website / or third party website, including the privacy of those details are explained and set out in our Privacy Policy which you can read on our website. This also covers personal details provided for bookings made by a method other than this website.
  2. Our policy surrounding the data, both personal and non-personal, that our website collects when you use it is explained and set out in our Cookie Policy which you can read on our website. This applies for all use of the website, regardless of whether or not you make a booking or enquiry.

Rental Equipment

Terms of Rental

  1. You (the Customer) agree to read and comply with all of the terms and conditions in this document, for the equipment that you rent from us (Perfect Shore Guest House, the Guest House), for the entire duration of the rental period.
  2. The Guest House provides bicycles, child bicycle seats, skateboards, surfboards and paddleboards for Customers to rent when the equipment is available.
  3. The Customer will be required to sign a Release Agreement before collecting the equipment.
  4. The Customer is required to provide a deposit in the form of cash or valid credit card. Cash deposits will be returned in full if the equipment is returned in the original condition. Credit cards will not be charged if the equipment is returned in the original condition.
  5. The cash deposit required is 100 EUR for each piece of equipment.
  6. The Guest House reserves the right to refuse rental to Customers who appear under the influence of alcohol or other substances that could impair their ability to use the equipment safely.

Damages and Losses

  1. The Customer should always use the equipment for its purpose.
  2. The Customer agrees to accept all responsibility to maintain the condition and whereabouts of all the equipment.
  3. If the equipment is damaged during the rental period the Customer must notify the Guest House immediately and will be responsible for the damage made. The Customer will be charged the value of the damage. The deposit will be used to pay for the damage in the first instance.
  4. If the equipment is stolen whilst in the possession of the Customer, the Customer shall submit a criminal complaint immediately and is responsible for the payment of its value.

Injury

  1. The Customer agrees to waive any and all claims that they have or may in the future have against the Guest House and to release the Guest House from any and all liability for any loss, damage, expense or injury, including death, that the Customer may suffer or that their next-of-kin may suffer as a result of their participation in equipment rental due to any cause whatsoever, including negligence, breach of contract or breach of any statutory or other duty of care, on the part of the Guest House, and further including the failure on the part of Guest House to safeguard or protect the Customer from or warn the Customer of the risks, dangers and hazards of participation in equipment rental.
  2. The Customer will hold harmless and indemnify the Guest House from any and all liability for any property damage or personal injury to any third party resulting from the Customer’s participation in equipment rental.

The Rental Period

  1. The Customer must return the equipment as soon as the time period of rental is expired.
  2. If the Customer returns the equipment after the rental period is expired the Guest House may charge an extra fee.
  3. If the Customer returns the equipment before the rental time period is expired no refund will be made.
  4. Failure to return rented equipment will be the subject of criminal complaint for theft against the practice of civil responsibility of the contract between the parties.

Authority

  1. The Release Agreement shall be effective and binding upon the Customer’s heirs, next-of-kin, executors, administrators, assigns and representatives, in the event of the Customer’s death or incapacity.
  2. The Release Agreement and any rights, duties and obligations as between the parties to the Release Agreement shall be governed by and interpreted solely in accordance with the Portuguese laws and no other jurisdiction.
  3. Any litigation involving the parties to the Release Agreement shall be brought solely within the Country of Portugal.
  4. If the participant is a minor, the parent or legal guardian represents the Release Agreement. It is important that the significance and assumption of risk, have been explained to and understood by the minor child. The person responsible declares, under penalty or perjury, that he/she is the parent or legal guardian of the named participant.
